OUR TOWN: 'Diva for a Day'

The women of Momentum 4 Life, a local group training together for fitness and fun, are joining with the Breast Resource Center of Santa Barbara to sponsor "Divas at the Doubletree."

Festivities take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Sept. 9 at Fess Parker's Doubletree Resort, 633 E. Cabrillo Blvd. Arriving in limousines, women guests will be greeted by tuxedo-clad waiters offering them flutes of champagne. The resort rotunda will be transformed into a symbolic "Red Tent," where divas can have fashion makeovers, participate in a karaoke contest, have their palms read and feast on appetizers and desserts and sip wine and martinis. Tickets: $100. Proceeds benefit the Breast Resource Center. Information: 569-6093.
